Amazon and Twitter are further revolutionizing and simplifying the way people shop online with the recent introduction of the #AmazonCart program. As of Monday, Twitter users who connect their accounts to Amazon.com can see tweets of enticing products sold on Amazon.com and reply with the hashtag #AmazonCart. Those items are then put in the users’ Amazon shopping carts to be purchased their convenience.
While this may help drive intent, how effective will it be at converting to an actual sale? Will this solve, or exacerbate the abandoned cart syndrome? Will functionality expanding beyond Twitter?
