If you told someone that you were helping the world through Black Friday shopping, you’d get more than a few questionable looks. Taking an altruistic approach rarely seen on this day, the innovators at Apple have made this unlikely pairing a reality and announced that a portion of Black Friday and CyberMonday sales would be donated to ‘Product (Red),’ a non-profit supporting the Global Fund to fight AIDS. To make an even bigger impact they forwent Black Friday ads on its website, choosing to instead turn its iconic logo red for AIDS awareness, and subtly mentioning the potential for deals.
