According to a recent study, college students value product information received through word-of-mouth above all other sources. Interesting given their preference for peer feedback, online reviews were ranked lower as a preferred source of information than both Internet and TV ads. While free product – samples and gifts – made the top ten list, it was surprisingly low with only 16% choosing this method as their choice to get more information on a product.
According to this study, traditional advertising is still one of the most preferred methods for some of the most tech savvy shoppers. What can we do in-store to compliment the internet and TV ads and make the most of each of these touchpoints? #MarsTalk
