Global Citizenship Day is The Mars Agency’s annual company-wide volunteer event. The Mars Agency closes all of its offices to donate company hours to organizations and businesses in their surrounding areas. As part of The Mars Agency’s Start Small initiative, Global Citizenship Day is just one way that The Mars Agency remains committed to driving growth for its community.

Start Small is a company-wide corporate social responsibility initiative which features the annual Global Citizenship Day, individual volunteer days and paid sabbaticals. The goal of this initiative is to create impact in our communities. This year’s Start Small focus is “Compassionate Care,” centered on caring for the healing, the recovering, the community, students and others.

I always look forward to Global Citizenship Day. At the end of the day, you go home, feeling wonderful because you know you helped someone. You also feel thankful for what you have – because the day makes you see yourself and your life in a different perspective. I love that Mars gives us this opportunity. It’s hard to make time to volunteer – and a company that cares enough to make a work day of it, says something. – Beth W.

I’m grateful that Mars gave us the opportunity to dedicate time to helping others during last year’s Corporate Citizenship day at Gleaners.  Not only was it satisfying personally for me but it was an opportunity to bring individuals from various groups together in a collective mission to make an impact on our community and ultimately our organization. –Janet M.

It’s awesome that we get the opportunity to work together outside of the office in a different setting. Not only do we get to participate in Global Citizenship Day, but with our individual volunteer days we get to work on something that is different, with a different passion and a job that’s unlike our own. We even get the chance to meet new people that are doing the same thing on their own time, with their own passion and for their own reasons. – Carlos P.

I think it’s cool that we have options. Whether it’s a different location or a different volunteer opportunity, we have the option to choose what we’re more interested in. It’s definitely cool to get out of the office for the day and make an impact in the community. – Kevin S.
