A shopper conference tweeted that in 2025, 50% of food shopping will be done online. It’s a growing trend, and we see new apps developing in this space. Hiku is a digital app that hopes to make grocery shopping easier by creating digital lists that can be shared between devices and used to buy groceries online. The app isn’t that revolutionary; there are many digital shopping apps out there, after all. It’s the growing amount of investment in this space that should get us all thinking. If digital grocery shopping is where we’re heading, we best prepare a good plan for brands to keep up.
