Mark has overseen the legal affairs of The Mars Agency for over 25 years. Prior to this role, he co-founded Lipson, Neilson and Jacobs, a boutique business/litigation law firm in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. In private law practice, Mark served as lead trial attorney and counselor to a variety of clients, from individuals to international companies. He has held various leadership positions in the bar association and has been frequently appointed as a court-appointed mediator and facilitator. He currently also serves as a Chairman for a Hearing Panel of the Attorney Discipline Board.
In the community service field, Mark founded and serves as the Director of a Pro Bono Legal Referral Service Program, overseeing a “virtual” law firm of over 150 attorney volunteers. He is the Chairman of Heart 2 Hart-Detroit, a local non-profit organization serving the needs of Detroit’s homeless population, and also served as Chairman of the Board of NorthStar, a Detroit community development organization that provided social services and housing projects to low-income seniors and families.
A graduate of Michigan State University and Wayne State University Law School, Mark has been a frequent author and speaker on various legal and community topics, and has made numerous appearances on local and national radio and TV, from local Detroit media to CNN. He has been married to his wife Linda for 34 years and is the proud father of two boys, to whom he recently wrote a book, “To My Sons…Tales and Occasional Wisdom from Your Old Man.”
