While stuck in a painfully slow supermarket line Fredrik Leifland, a student at Lund University, wondered if vein scanning technology could be used as part of a payment system.  Every individual’s vein pattern is completely unique, so there really is no way of committing fraud with this system, you just need your hand scanned for a payment to go through.  So far 15 stores and restaurants and 1,600 people have adopted the futuristic technology.
