Building Leadership Muscle in Canada

The Mars Agency has strengthened its growing business in Canada by building up the executive management ranks.

At the top, the agency has expanded the purview of Darren Keen, CEO International Markets, to encompass the agency’s business and growth efforts in the Canadian market.

Keen joined Mars in 2010 to open the agency’s first office outside the U.S., in London, ultimately growing the business to become a market leader in the U.K. and then across Europe. In 2019, he was named CEO International Markets to reflect the agency’s emerging activity in Asia and Latin America.

“I’m thrilled to help drive the business in Canada as we continue bringing clients best-in-class strategic planning, our proprietary Marilyn® platform, and some of the best talent in the industry,” says Keen. “My goal is to bring bespoke focus and agility to enhance what our team has already accomplished in Canada and help us reach new heights in this critical market.”

Assisting Keen will be another Mars veteran, Jan Ferguson, who was named SVP/GM for Agency Services in Canada and will be responsible for day-to-day management and continued growth of the Canadian operation.

Since joining Mars in 2014 as Vice President-Client Leadership, Ferguson has consistently provided strategic guidance across all client groups while generating new business and also serving as the agency’s go-to operations lead.

In addition, Micheline Vaughan and Tiffany Dockery were both named to Vice President-Client Leadership positions to help manage a Canadian portfolio that is growing both in number of clients and in the scope of work for existing clients.
