Mars Offices ‘Start Small’ for the Holidays

The “Season of Giving” was on full display across The Mars Agency in December as regional offices hosted drives and events to provide gifts, donations, food and a little fun to their favorite local charities.

The Cincinnati team worked with The Children’s Home of Cincinnati to “adopt” 10 kids for whom they purchased holiday gifts.

In Minneapolis, the team gave non-perishable food and monetary donations to PRISM, an area nonprofit that aids hungry and homeless citizens in the Twin Cities.

The Chicago office made holiday decorations, helped pass out donated Christmas trees and spent time with the young residents of UCAN Chicago, an organization that provides a continuum of care to at-risk children and families across Illinois.

In Detroit, Martians collected toys and other gifts for two local organizations: New City Kids, which empowers at-risk teens to become role models for other children in their neighborhoods, and Share a Smile, which helps struggling Michigan residents meet their financial needs.

The NYC & Stamford offices even enlisted their families to create holiday cards and baked goods for CityMeals on Wheels, which literally delivers a lifeline of nourishment for homebound citizens. Several Martians also volunteered for a morning of meal deliveries.

Start Small is The Mars Agency’s community volunteer initiative, which focuses on giving back to the communities in which we live through small acts of kindness. Our goal is 100% employee participation in at least one of the program’s three pillars:

  • Quarterly events hosted by our local offices (team volunteer events or donation drives).
  • Martian Missions, in which employees apply for up to 160 hours of time to support a cause of their choice.
  • Individual Personal Volunteer Days.
